Everything about trials, billing dates, cancelling, refunds and plan changes — disclosed before you buy, as Ontario consumer protection law requires. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.

Memberships are monthly subscriptions in Canadian dollars that renew automatically until you cancel. Applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout. There is no minimum term, no cancellation fee and no lock-in contract.
Where a plan includes a 7-day free trial, we collect your card at signup but do not charge it during the trial. At the end of the seventh day the subscription converts to a paid monthly term and your card is charged the plan price plus tax.
To avoid being charged, cancel before the trial ends. You keep full access for the remainder of the trial after cancelling.
Cancel yourself at any time from your billing page, or email support@suchasofty.org and we will cancel it for you. No phone call, retention interview or written notice period is required.
14-day refund on your first paid month
If you are not satisfied, email us within 14 days of your first paid charge and we will refund it in full, no explanation required. This applies once per customer, to the first paid month only.
Renewals
Renewal charges are generally not refundable, because you had access for the period charged and the 7-day trial plus 14-day window gave you time to evaluate. We will still refund a renewal in these cases:
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. We may decline a refund where there is evidence of abuse, such as bulk downloading the library and immediately requesting money back, or repeated subscribe-refund cycles.
Manage plan changes on your billing page.
If a renewal payment fails, our processor retries it over several days and emails you. Access continues during the retry window. If payment still fails, the subscription is cancelled and your account drops to the free plan — nothing is sent to collections.
If we raise the price of your plan we give at least 30 days' notice by email before it applies to you, so you can cancel first. Your current price stays in effect until then.
Nothing here limits rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable consumer legislation, including rights relating to unsolicited or unauthorised charges and to cancellation of certain internet agreements. If our policy and your statutory rights conflict, your statutory rights win.
If you dispute a charge, please email us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank chargeback, and a chargeback filed without contacting us may result in your account being suspended under our Terms of Service.
Email support@suchasofty.org from your account address with the word “refund” in the subject line and the date of the charge. We reply within 5 business days.
